About Badia/Abtei

At more than 1,300 metres above sea level, Badia has all the charm of a traditional Italian mountain village. Stroll around the village and admire traditional wooden buildings decorated with colourful flower boxes. Buildings like the Rococo-style St. Leonard Church showcase the town’s rich cultural heritage.

Badia is one of the top summer hiking destinations in South Tyrol. Low-altitude trails take you through lush valleys and flower-strewn pastures. There are runs for every age and skill level in the Alta Badia ski area. The family-friendly resort is surrounded by the majestic Dolomites and features more than 130 kilometres of groomed pistes. Direct access to Dolomiti Superski lifts unlocks access to even more runs. Food is just as important as skiing in the Dolomites. Cosy, wood-panelled huts dot the mountainsides and serve traditional Dolomite dishes like “turtres” fried pastries stuffed with spinach, “canederli” salami dumplings and hearty “panicia” barley soup.
