About Seongsu-dong

Known as the Brooklyn of Seoul, Seongsu-dong is a hub for Korean students, hipsters and artists. Its streets have been transformed by trendy cafes, restaurants and boutiques, giving Seongsu-dong an enticing bohemian vibe.

Things to do in Seongsu-dong

Head to Seongsu-dong to appreciate the dynamic street art. Today the walls of its old factories and warehouses have been reimagined as colourful street murals designed by local Seoul artists. A walking tour is a great way to admire the murals and snap Instagram-worthy shots.

Need a caffeine hit? Head straight to Seongsu Handmade Shoe Street. Also known as Cafe Street, it’s lined with an eclectic mix of trendy cafes and artisan roasters. Some even feature rooftop terraces where you can sip on coffee in the sunshine.

Seongsu-dong is an incredibly stylish neighbourhood, perfect for discovering local designers. You can find some of the best shopping at the Common Ground pop-up shopping complex, built entirely from decommissioned shipping containers.
