Forming part of North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad, Winston-Salem is a historic city first settled by German-speaking Moravians. Its rich heritage is celebrated at the Open Salem Museum and in the charismatic streets of the West End Historic District and it also boasts one of the country’s finest collections of American Art.

An estate belonging to one of the region’s wealthiest tobacco farmers is now the setting for the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, home to one of the finest collections of American paintings. Admire works by Jacob Lawrence and Georgia O’Keeffe, then wander amidst the formal gardens, Japanese cherry blossoms and wildlife-filled wetlands.
