Considered one of Croatia’s most beautiful coastal areas, Brela Beach lies between Split and Makarska on the Dalmatian coast. It comprises several linked beaches renowned for their crystal clear waters and fringing pine forests.
Stretch your legs on the pedestrian promenade linking the beaches to the north-west of Brela town, the most spectacular of which is Punta Rata. You can rent sun loungers and beach umbrellas to settle in for a day on the pebbly shores or hire a pedal boat to explore Brela Beach from the water.
Just off Punta Rata is the “Brela Stone”, a small rocky island that has become a symbol of the region and a popular photo opportunity. There are plenty of eateries backing Brela Beach where you can dine throughout the day, including the Caffe Bar Mačić, Restaurant Punta Rata and U.o.ZAL Pancakes.
Getting there
Brela Beach is a 20-minute drive from Makarska and just over an hour from Split. Split Airport is 1.5 hours away and has flights to destinations across Europe. Buses connect from towns and cities across Dalmatia to the Brela Bus Station while the beach area can easily be accessed on foot.
