About Envigado

Founded as a town in 1775, Envigado sprawls south-east of Medellin’s metropolitan area. It was famously the hometown of Fernando Gonzalez, who was nicknamed the “Philosopher from Elsewhere” and is credited with heavily influencing Colombian societal values during the early 20th century.

Once home to the writer and philosopher Fernando González is the Casa Museo Otraparte, which was originally built in 1940 on a design by Carlos Obregon.
