Officially known as Weltvogelpark Walsrode, the Walsrode Bird Park sprawls across the Lüneburg Heath between Hamburg, Hannover and Bremen. It’s one of the largest bird parks in the world and home to more than 4,000 birds representing around 675 species from every continent and climatic zone.
Explore the indoor aviaries, tropical halls and outdoor enclosures of Walsrode Bird Park to come face-to-face with exotic birds from across the globe. A highlight of visiting the park is the daily flight demonstrations where you can watch as falcons, eagles and pelicans show off their impressive aerial skills.
In addition to birds, the Walsrode Bird Park is also home to sugar gliders, iguanas and fruit bats that can be observed during engaging animal shows. The park is set within picturesque grounds that feature rose and rhododendron gardens, as well as the glass-fronted Rosencafé where you can watch the birds over afternoon tea.
