One of the world’s busiest transport hubs, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the primary airport in Texas. It covers an area that is larger than Manhattan Island, sprawling across both Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport serves as a major hub for American Airlines, with around 900 daily flights to more than 200 destinations across the U.S. and abroad. It’s set across five terminals that are designed in a “U” shape and connected by the Skylink train.
Terminal A, B and C are dominated by American Airlines flights, while Terminal E is utilised by other North American carriers serving domestic and Canadian destinations. Terminal D is the dedicated International Terminal and features lounges for many of the carriers, as well as its own hotel. Boutique shops, eateries and bars are scattered throughout all of the terminal buildings, and there are plenty of seating areas to relax in.
Got some time to kill during your layover? Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport boasts a range of artwork that have been commissioned by local and international artists and are displayed throughout the International Terminal and Skylink stations. There are impressive paintings and mosaics to discover, as well as a dedicated outdoor sculpture garden.
If you’re just visiting the airport, the best place to watch the aircraft comings and goings is from Founders’ Plaza. Information panels detail the airport’s history alongside picnic tables, and telescopes and radio broadcasts live air traffic control communications.
Getting there
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is connected to both Downtown Dallas and Downtown Fort Worth along the Trinity Railway Express from Centre Port/DFW Airport Station. Alternatively, there are regular public buses, shuttle services and private taxis available outside the terminal buildings.
