About Puerto de Alcudia

Located on the north-east coast of Mallorca, Puerto de Alcudia is a popular resort town overlooking the Balearic Sea. It serves as an arrival and departure point for ferries connecting to nearby Menorca and Barcelona, with a long stretch of golden sand, a family-friendly water park and an art museum among its highlights.

Things to do in Puerto de Alcudia

Stretching almost 3.5 kilometres to the west of the port is Playa d’Alcudia, a Blue Flag beach backed by a long boardwalk lined with restaurants, cafes and shops. It’s a popular setting for kayaking and standup paddleboarding, while it also boasts a children’s playground and fitness equipment. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for rent.

Kids will love spending a day at the Hidropark Alcudia, a family-friendly water park home to gentle rides, a wave pool and toddler splash pools. In addition to its water-based attractions, the park also features bouncy castles, trampolines and a 54-hole miniature golf course. More experienced golfers can enjoy a round on the 18-hole course of Golf Alcanada.

A short drive from Puerto de Alcudia is the Museo Sa Bassa Blanca, which encompasses a Hispano-Moorish house noted for its 15th-century coffered ceiling. Admire the paintings by Mallorcan artist Miquel Barcelo and the collection of children’s portraits, then wander through the sculpture garden named after Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu. Also forming part of the museum complex is a camera obscura and a fragrant rose garden.

Getting around Puerto de Alcudia

Puerto de Alcudia is a 40-minute drive from Palma and Palma de Mallorca Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe and North Africa. Ferries connect from Barcelona to Puerto de Alcudia and buses travel to towns and villages across Mallorca. The centre of Puerto de Alcudia can easily be explored on foot.
