Things to do in Wentworth Falls
One of the best ways to enjoy the Blue Mountains is on foot. Wentworth Falls Track winds past a pair of stunning viewpoints then down to Fletchers Lookout. Built on a rocky cliffside, it rewards hikers with incredible views of Wentworth Falls as it meanders down to the valley floor.
With grassy picnic spots, barbecue facilities and multiple playgrounds, Wentworth Falls Lake is a favourite with families. While it was originally created as a water source for steam trains, it's now a haven for native water birds, crayfish and dragonfly nymphs. If you feel like stretching your legs, a scenic walking trail winds its way around the lake.
Perched high on the clifftops of the Jamison Valley, Wentworth Falls Country Club is home to a magnificent 18-hole golf course. The fairways are surrounded by native gums and eucalypts that offer a welcome respite from the sun.
From leisurely lunches to sunset toasts, Ingar Picnic Ground is one of the prettiest picnic spots in the Blue Mountains. It's just 10 kilometres from Wentworth Falls and offers panoramic views over Kings Tableland and the traditional territory of the Indigenous Gundungurra people.
Getting around Wentworth Falls
From Sydney, the 90-kilometre drive to Wentworth Falls takes just over one hour. Another option is taking the train, which runs from Sydney Central to Wentworth Falls Station in around two hours. While the town is easy to navigate on foot, you'll need a car to explore Blue Mountains National Park.
