Housed in a grand contemporary building, Auditorio Nacional de Musica (ANM) is one of the top concert halls in Spain. The complex hosts performances by Madrid’s world-famous Orquesta Sinfonica, which was founded in 1903 and is one of Europe’s most prestigious symphony orchestras.
ANM occupies a striking modern building designed by acclaimed Spanish architect, Jose Maria Garcia de Paredes. The complex is anchored by the state-of-the-art Symphony Hall with capacity for more than 2,300 people. The smaller Chamber Hall boasts excellent acoustics and a more intimate atmosphere.
In addition to the main concert hall, Auditorio Nacional de Musica features several other venues used for smaller performances. The complex is also home to the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir, which performs classic and contemporary works. Two on-site cafes serve delicious tea, cake and refreshments.
Getting there
Auditorio Nacional de Musica is located in the Prosperidad neighbourhood of Madrid, a 15-minute drive from the city centre. Parking is available on the street and at nearby garages. Trains call at Cruz del Rayo station on Line 9 of the Madrid Metro and Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
