Part of the Sunshine Coast Region, Bokarina has no shortage of postcard-perfect beaches. Most are unpatrolled and showcase the raw natural beauty of Queensland. Kawana Beach is a local favourite, featuring golden sand and crystal-clear water. Just inland is the master-planned Lake Kawana, where you can kayak and enjoy a scenic paddle or explore the surrounding parkland and walking trails.

A 15-minute drive of north Bokarina is Point Cartwright, a scenic headland fringed by a pristine beach. Watch surfers paddle out to the break and keep an eye out for humpback whales breaching offshore. The grassy foreshore is great for enjoying a picnic, while on the western side of the peninsula you can cast a line in the Mooloolah River.

Bokarina will tantalise your palate with some of the best cafes and restaurants in Queensland. Start your day with a smoothie bowl and cup of locally-roasted coffee. After a day in the sunshine, refuel at one of Bokarina’s atmospheric waterfront restaurants.

On Saturday mornings, the Kawana Waters Artisans and Farmers Market is brimming with colourful fruit and vegetables. You can sip craft beer, listen to live music and check out the food trucks at the Currimundi Lake Twilight Markets.
