Located near Singapore’s atmospheric Chinatown district, the three-storey Singapore City Gallery highlights the last 50 years of changes throughout Singapore through its giant model replica of the island city-state. Exploring the gallery gives you an in-depth look at the past, present and future of Singapore, showcasing the city planning, urban development and architecture.
The multi-sensory learning experience at the Singapore City Gallery includes temporary exhibits on urban planning in the Atrium, a detailed City Canvas on the third floor and a rent-free space for locals to display artwork inspired by city themes. You can also time your visit for various special events, such as the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and President’s Design Award.
Thanks to its central position, the Singapore City Gallery can be easily combined with popular Chinatown attractions, such as the Chinatown Visitor Centre and Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Wander outside to find a range of dining options nearby, including Spinach & Soup and the Maxwell Food Centre.
Getting there
The Singapore City Gallery is nestled between Chinatown and the CBD, about two minutes’ walk from the Maxwell Rd FC bus stop or 600 metres from the Telok Ayer subway station. It’s housed within The URA Centre, which has seasonal and short-term parking options.
